MANILA, 12 MARCH 2026 – The ASEAN Committee on Sustainable Infrastructure (ACSI) held its first meeting of the year today in Manila, under the Philippines’ 2026 ASEAN Chairship. The meeting was chaired by Joseph J Capuno, Undersecretary of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) of the Philippines, and was attended by all ASEAN Member States. Representatives at the meeting included agencies responsible for national planning and development, transport, and public works.
The meeting deliberated on the final implementation status of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 and the progress of implementing its successor, the ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan (ACSP), particularly on the strategic measures under the Strategic Area on Sustainable Infrastructure. The ACSP is a comprehensive and forward-looking document that guides the ASEAN Connectivity agenda for the period of 2026–2035, building on the achievements of MPAC 2025 while expanding the scope of ASEAN Connectivity to address new and emerging regional and global developments and priorities.
ACSI also discussed priorities under the ASEAN Sustainable Infrastructure Action Plan (SIAP) 2026–2030, including the continued updating of the Initial Pipeline of ASEAN Infrastructure Projects and capacity building activities for AMS. Efforts to deepen and broaden cooperation with Dialogue Partners and other External Partners will continue to be explored.
